FLORIDA PRIMARY RESOLVES MOST JUDICIAL RACES; SEVEN HEAD TO NOVEMBER RUNOFFS
Four circuit races, one each in the Ninth and 17th circuits and two in the 11th, went to a runoff, as did three county court races in Duval, Liberty, and Seminole counties
Only a handful of circuit and county court judicial races remain to be resolved after voters cast ballots in the August 18 primary election.
Four circuit races, one each in the Ninth and 17th circuits and two in the 11th, went to a runoff, as did three county court races in Duval, Liberty, and Seminole counties.
Overall, ballots were cast in 23 circuit court races and 16 county court races.
The runoff contests will be on the November 3 general election ballot, along with the merit retention referendums on Supreme Court Justice Carlos G. Muñiz and 22 district court of appeal judges.
Circuit court election results were taken from unofficial tallies posted on the Secretary of State Division of Elections’ website. To win, candidates needed to garner more than 50% of the vote. If no candidate received a majority of the votes cast, the top two vote-getters will face each other in the November general election.
