ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The Orange County Clerk of Courts will raise starting pay for entry-level employees from $17 to $21 an hour beginning Aug. 17.
“When I became Clerk in 2014, our starting pay was just $11.17 an hour,” Clerk Tiffany Moore Russell said. “I’m proud that years of advocating with Clerks across Florida for a stronger funding model from legislators have helped put us in a position to make this important investment in our people.”
Russell said the increase aims to help recruit and retain employees managing court operations and sensitive legal matters for Orange County residents.
The raise follows changes to state funding, including House Bill 925, which allows clerk offices to keep more court revenue. The 2026–27 budget added $4.8 million in ongoing funding for jury costs.
Starting wages at the Orange County Clerk’s Office increased to $14 an hour in 2020 and later rose to $17 an hour before the latest adjustment.
Russell credited Florida lawmakers, including the Orange County Legislative Delegation, for helping establish the funding structure behind the pay increase.
